MEA CULPA! No More Kool-Aid

I admit it. I drank the Kool-Aid. It warped my judgment, and caused me to see through goggles. Democratic Party goggles. Like many Americans I’d allowed myself to fall victim to the media hype—to be honest, I actively enabled it. Shocked by the turn downward in both the economy and in government, I jumped on the Obama change-wagon. However, now that President Obama has achieved his goal of office with a Congressional majority, he no longer needs many of us. In fact, we may soon find that he no longer needs ANY of us. While his campaign was going on and on about “change,” we failed to ask the hard question: change to WHAT?

The administration’s first few months: Billions of our children’s future tax dollars thrown down the gaping maws of ravenous, rapacious banks, corporations, and insurance companies—with less than no supervision or regulation; Mafia-style arm-twisting of an American state (California) on behalf of a major contributing union (SEIU)—threatening that state with being impelled into bankruptcy; and a major policy speech for the Muslim world, to be delivered in Cairo (within minutes of being able to visit Jerusalem) that will set out President Obama’s message to ALL Muslims, while he won’t even bother to visit Israel to talk with even ONE Jew. I think this is a message that EVERY Jew—Indeed, every American—should hear loud and clear. This is a warm and fuzzy approach to some of our biggest enemies, while giving a firmly applied backhand slap to one of our biggest allies. In some ways, it is also spitting in the face of every single Jew who worked for President Obama, who voted for him, who contributed to his campaign (as, indeed, I’m sorry to say that I did.) Is this our reward?

The President’s upcoming Cairo speech, viewed with the entirety of the Administration’s policy moves (Obama’s overtures to Iran and its proxies,) should be shocking to America’s Jews—indeed, to the world ‘s Jews. What’s beyond shocking, though, is the media-encouraged, (yeah, that same media that the Jews supposedly control) volume of abject Jew-hatred that’s building to an unabated crescendo throughout the world—as Judeophobes everywhere howl about the “two-state solution” ad nauseum. As we hear the train coming down the tracks, stepping aside to let it pass is no option. We need to block the tracks before the train runs us over.

Mr. President, let’s be clear: There already is a “Palestinian” state. It’s called Jordan. It was created in 1922, when Britain carved out the 76% of its League of Nations Mandate that had been set aside for a Jewish homeland—the part on the eastern side of the Jordan River—and gave it to the Arabs, prohibiting all Jews from so much as living there. Do a little homework. Discover the secret 1916 “Sykes-Picot” agreement that divided the modern Middle East between France and Britain, in contemplation of winning WWI.

A few apropos quotes from the Arabs themselves, Mr. President:

“Palestine and Transjordan are one, for Palestine is the coastline and Transjordan the hinterland of the same country.” King Abdullah, at the Meeting of the Arab League in Cairo, 12th April 1948

On August 23,1959, Hazza` al-Majali, the Prime Minister of Jordan, stated, “We are the Government of Palestine, the army of Palestine and the refugees of Palestine.”

“Let us not forget the East Bank of the (River) Jordan, where seventy per cent of the inhabitants belong to the Palestinian nation.” George Habash, leader of the PFLP section of the PLO, in the PLO publication Sha-un Falastinia, February 1970

“Palestine is Jordan and Jordan is Palestine; there is one people and one land, with one history and one and the same fate.” Prince Hassan, brother of King Hussein, addressing the Jordanian National Assembly, 2nd February 1970

“There is no family on the East Bank of the river (Jordan) that does not have relatives on the West Bank … no family in the west that does not have branches in the east.” King Hussein, addressing the Jordanian National Assembly, 2nd February 1972

“We consider it necessary to clarify to one and all, in the Arab world and outside, that the PALESTINIAN PEOPLE with its nobility and conscience is to be found HERE on the EAST Bank (of the Jordan River)…Its overwhelming majority is HERE and nowhere else.” King Hussein, quoted in An-Hahar, Beirut, 24th August 1972

Past “President Bourguiba (of Tunisia) considers Jordan an artificial creation presented by Great Britain to King Abdullah. But he accepts Palestine and the Palestinians as an existing and primary fact since the days of the Pharaohs. Israel, too, he considers as a primary entity. However, Arab history makes no distinction between Jordanians, Syrians and Palestinians. Most of them hail from the same Arab race, which arrived in the region with the Arab Moslem conquest.” Editorial Comment in the Jordanian Armed Forces’ weekly, Al-Aqsa, Amman, 11th July 1973

“…those fishing in troubled waters will not succeed in dividing our people, which extends to both sides of the (River) Jordan, in spite of the artificial boundaries established by the Colonial Office and Winston Churchill half a century ago.” Yassir Arafat, in a statement to Eric Roleau

Incidentally, Mr. President, Yassir Arafat—head of the PLO—was born in Cairo in August 1929. He was an Egyptian. That’s why the Nobel committee that issued his joint peace prize failed to publish a contemporaneous official biography for the first time in history–they delayed release until it could be politically repackaged a bit and be less-noticed. It was not efficaciously written by the award time for the Peace Prize, and would’ve been too embarrassing to “out” the PLO/Arafat myths and hypocrisy.

Read the Royal Commission Hearings (Peel Commission) transcripts from the 1930s, where over, and over again the Arabs insisted that they were not “Palestinians,” but Arabs, or even lower Syrians. That’s right, most of the Arabs were still acknowledging that this is where they came from: Syria. Others came from Egypt. Still more from other areas of the Middle East, from the beginning of the 20th century, after the Jews began arriving—because it was economically feasible for them to move to where there might be jobs that didn’t exist in their homelands. Read Mark Twain, “The Innocents Abroad,” where he sets forth for us, in 1867, exactly who was and wasn’t living in that part of the Middle East. H. Allen Tupper, Jr. wrote in The New York Times in 1896, after having “ridden on horseback more than four hundred miles through Palestine and Syria,” that virtually the only local people he encountered were “merchantmen with their long camel trains” and “wild Bedouin tribes” that “reside in one locality not more than two months.” The very concept of “Palestinian” nationhood was non-existent before the 1967 War, when Israel defeated Jordan, Egypt, and Syria, and regained sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. Arab residents in these areas continued to hold Jordanian citizenship until 1988!

Read about how Britain decided they wanted to give the Jews a homeland only because of their inundation with unwanted Jewish refugees escaping from the pogroms going on in western Russia and eastern Poland since the March 1881 assassination of Czar Alexander II. A reliable estimate from multiple sources is that over 500,000 Jews were murdered in a shocking prelude to Hitlerism, and many more brutally beaten, raped, and robbed.

During that period, over 2 million Jews left that part of Europe: most of them ending up in Britain as well as the US. To say that they were welcomed with open arms in either location would be beyond laughable. (That my own great-grand parents were murdered by their neighbors in the 1919 Ukrainian/Russian Civil War is why my mother’s family ended up in the USA.) Even though legally here, they encountered many of the same harsh attitudes directed today at Mexican immigrants, along with similar prejudices and slurs. Read, Mr. President, about how the immigration policies of the Henry Ford/Joe Kennedy/Charles Lindbergh isolationist, racial-eugenics pursuing United States restricted JEWISH Immigration SPECIFICALLY in 1924—and how that is just as much of a contributor to the destruction of European Jewry as Hitler’s rise to power 10 years later. Moreover, the embers of these dormant attitudes in the United States remain unextinguished, as we can now feel and see clearly.

Learn how the legacy of the British Empire is really responsible for the abysmal state of politics in the Middle East today—not a couple of million Jews in the middle of an ocean of hundreds of millions of people who want to murder them. Britain created Iraq in 1921, from a patchwork of peoples that had always hated each other, like throwing wet tomcats into a bag together. Britain created the Judenrein country of Jordan. Britain used Jews and Arabs against each other in the remaining 24% of the mandate in order to cement their imperial control over what they correctly perceived as the world’s petro-crossroads. Britain is responsible for the major anti-Jewish Arab pogroms/riots in 1920-21, 1929, and 1935—directly and openly inciting some of them.

The Mufti of Jerusalem: Haj Amin al-Husseini, was an open supporter, ally, and visitor of Adolf Hitler‘s, and was salivating at the prospect of Rommel winning North Africa and turning the Einsatzgruppen loose in Mandate Palestine to exterminate the Jews. His heirs philosophically, politically, and actually, are the very same Arabs that you want Israel to appease and accommodate NOW! The Nazis and their friends lost the War!

Read Mr. President. Learn Mr. President. You’re an attorney. You don’t seem to me to be the type of attorney who ever took a case without studying all of the facts in order to determine the correct course of action. Of course, this leads to the conclusion that you probably already know everything that I’ve set forth above. Yet, you choose the course of action that you are now taking. To say that this is alarming and heartbreaking for millions of Americans is beyond understatement.

My eyes and ears are now open without obstruction. I see and I hear everything that is going on around me. I will no longer drink the Obama Kool-Aid. While you are my president, and I will support you as long as you do what is in the best interest of my country, my mouth is also open. Moreover, I will not shut it just because you don’t want to hear what I might have to say, along with millions more of my compatriots–your citizens and constituents. We will not be quiet. We will not be still. You will hear us, or we will get louder and more in number until you can no longer ignore the truth.

This essay was written in 1988 by Rabbi Meir Kahane, only a couple of years before he was murdered by an Arab terrorist, Egyptian-born El Sayyid Nosair, who not only was convicted of his murder but also of conspiracy in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

If I were living in Israel today, publishing this item would subject me to “Administrative Detention,” so busy is the current Israeli government in kowtowing to the power pimps in Europe, to their American “friends,” to the Arabs who want to murder all of them to the last child. I publish this on behalf of free Jews everywhere. To those who disagree, I say simply, “Go to hell.”
It appears that you are hard to please. I understand that you are upset over us, here in Israel. Indeed, it appears that you are quite upset, even angry and outraged? Indeed, every few years you seem to become upset over us. Today, it is the brutal repression of the Palestinians; yesterday, it was Lebanon; before that it was the bombing of the nuclear reactor in Baghdad and the Yom Kippur War campaign. It appears that Jews who triumph and who, therefore, live, upset you most extraordinarily.

Of course, dear world, long before there was an Israel, we, the Jewish people – upset you. We upset a German people who elected a Hitler and we upset an Austrian people who cheered his entry into Vienna and we upset a whole slew of Slavic nations – Poles, Slovaks, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Russians, Hungarians, Romanians. And we go back a long, long way in the history of world upset. We upset the Cossacks of Bogdan Khmielnitskyi, who massacred tens of thousands of us in 1648-49; we upset the Crusaders who, on their way to liberate the Holy Land, were so upset at Jews that they slaughtered untold numbers of us. We upset, for centuries, a Roman Catholic Church that did its best to define our relationship through Inquisitions and torture. And we upset the arch-enemy of the Church, Martin Luther, who, in his call to burn the synagogues and the Jews within them, showed an admirable Christian ecumenical spirit.

It is because we became so upset over upsetting you, dear world, that we decided to leave you – in a manner of speaking – and establish a Jewish State. The reasoning was that living in close contact with you, as resident-strangers in the various countries that comprise you, we upset you, irritate you, disturb you. What better notion, then, than to leave you and thus love you – and have you love us? And so we decided to come home – to the same homeland from which we were driven out 1,900 years earlier by a Roman world that, apparently, we also upset.

Alas, dear world, it appears that you are hard to please. Having left you and your Pogroms and Inquisitions and Crusades and Holocausts, having taken our leave of the general world to live alone in our own little state – we continue to upset you.

You are upset that we repress the poor Palestinians. You are deeply angered over the fact that we do not give up the lands of 1967, which are clearly the obstacle to peace in the Middle East. Moscow is upset and Washington is upset. The Arabs are upset and the gentle Egyptian moderates are upset. Well, dear world, consider the reaction of a normal Jew from Israel. In 1920, 1921 and 1929, there were no territories of 1967 to impede peace between Jews and Arabs. Indeed, there was no Jewish State to upset anybody. Nevertheless, the same oppressed and repressed Palestinians slaughtered hundreds of Jews in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Safed and Hebron. Indeed, 67 Jews were slaughtered one day in Hebron – in 1929.

Dear World, why did the Arabs – the Palestinians – massacre 67 Jews in one day in 1929? Could it have been their anger over Israeli aggression in 1967? And why were 510 Jewish men, women and children slaughtered in Arab riots in 1936-39? Was it because of Arab upset over 1967? And when you, World, proposed a U.N. Partition Plan in 1947 that would have created a Palestinian State alongside a tiny Israel and the Arabs cried and went to war and killed 6,000 Jews – was that upset stomach caused by the aggression of 1967? And, by the way, dear world, why did we not hear your cry of upset then?

The poor Palestinians who today kill Jews with explosives and firebombs and stones are part of the same people who – when they had all the territories they now demand be given them for their state – attempted to drive the Jewish State into the sea. The same twisted faces, the same hate, the same cry of “idbah-al-yahud” – “Slaughter the Jews!” that we hear and see today, were seen and heard then. The same people, the same dream – destroy Israel. What they failed to do yesterday, they dream of today – but we should not “repress” them.

Dear World, you stood by the Holocaust and you stood by in 1948 as seven states launched a war that the Arab League proudly compared to the Mongol massacres. You stood by in 1967 as Nasser, wildly cheered by wild mobs in every Arab capital in the world, vowed to drive the Jews into the sea. And you would stand by tomorrow if Israel were facing extinction. And since we know that the Arabs-Palestinians daily dream of that extinction, we will do everything possible to remain alive in our own land. If that bothers you, dear world, well – think of how many times in the past you bothered us. In any event, dear world, if you are bothered by us, here is one Jew in Israel who could not care less.
